Believe it or not, Volkswagen’s Super Bowl ad called “The Force” has (re)popularized Star Wars so much this Halloween season that some stores sold out of Darth Vader costumes by mid-October.

Before the “The Force” even aired it had already become a viral hit, logging more than 12.5 million views on YouTube, 10,000 comments and 62,000 Facebook “likes” four hours before the Super Bowl. (Source: The Huffington Post)
According to The Examiner, one Party City manager in North Atlanta noted two weeks ago: “We can’t keep the Darth Vader costume in stock. It’s been incredibly popular this year.”
